Announcement of PGL Wallachia S8, roster analysis, numerous stand-ins and tournament format

PGL Wallachia Season 8 starts tomorrow, and once again, the preparation for it didn’t go smoothly. Many teams will play with stand-ins, OG refused to participate, and paiN Gaming disbanded and withdrew from the tournament.
Lineup of participants:
PGL decided not to hold qualifiers, instead issuing 16 direct invitations. The tournament will feature 5 teams from WEU, 6 teams from EEU, one from NA, and 2 each from CN and SA. It is worth noting that PGL Wallachia Season 8 will take place without teams from Southeast Asia. OG did not manage to prepare their visas in time, just like other potential SEA-region participants.
Changes in team rosters:
- DM will replace Noticed in Team Yandex. The organization reported that Noticed once again failed to obtain a visa to Romania and will miss the tournament. Interestingly, Team Yandex already played with DM at PGL Wallachia Season 7, where they became champions.
- Pure will also not take part in the tournament due to visa issues. Instead, Tundra Esports will play with V-Tune, who already played with the team at the previous PGL event.
- Team Spirit continue to play without their main offlaner, Collapse, who went on vacation. Batyuk will play in his place.
- lorenof will once again stand in for MidOne in MOUZ. This is already the fourth time the Ukrainian is listed as a stand-in for the team. Previously, lorenof played for MOUZ at FISSURE Playground 2, as well as in the closed qualifiers for DreamLeague 29 and Blast Slam 7.
- XinQ returned to the pro scene with Vici Gaming after half a year of inactivity.
- Ekki will play for Team Liquid; Boxi took a short break but promised to return after PGL Wallachia Season 8.
- Natus Vincere replaced Zayac with Daze, who previously played for the youth roster NAVI Junior.
- Virtus.pro took the slot of the withdrawn OG and will play the tournament with their full lineup.
- paiN Gaming announced their disband and withdrew from the tournament; South America Rejects were invited to take their place.
PGL Wallachia Season 8 will take place April 18–26 in Bucharest, Romania. The tournament prize pool is 1 million dollars.
