Team Liquid Take Down Tundra Esports In 33’s Absence
Team Liquid are back to their winning ways after taking down MidOne and Tundra Esports. For an undisclosed reason, 33 missed the first day of the PGL Wallachia Season 4 Playoffs, and may be absent for tomorrow as well.
Tundra looked good in the first map, winning the early game and building a 3,000 net worth lead. However, MidOne went for a questionable Helm of the Dominator build on offlane Abaddon. After Tundra failed to build upon their early dominance, Nisha’s Ember Spirit had completely free reign due to the lack of catch, allowing Team Liquid to eventually take the win.
In the second map, Team Liquid went for an experimental draft, picking support Enigma for iNSaNiA, a hero he hasn’t played in several months. Tundra again showed a strong early game and held a huge gold lead throughout the course of the game. The game was made close when iNSaNiA landed a three-man Black Hole to show signs of a potential comeback.
Even though the game was close, Bzm got an Amplify Damage rune on his Puck to seal the game and deny the comeback attempt.
Team Liquid decided to take the game seriously on the decider. miCKe had a completely free lane on Phantom Assassin, as the rest of the team was creating lots of space. Eventually, the game was a blowout with Tundra showing little to no resistance.
Tundra Esports are now at the brink of elimination, as they fall to the Lower Bracket. The Western European squad will play the loser of Team Spirit vs. NAVI Junior, all while 33’s return is still in question.
