NiP CEO to discuss the importance of Esports with Swedish politicians
Hicham Chahine, CEO of one of Sweden's most famous Esports organizations, Ninjas in Pyjamas, has invited the country's top politicians to his office. He plans to raise the importance of cybersports.
Hicham Chahine:
This is an official invite for lunch and video games at the NIP offices to learn more about Esports.
Sweden has produced some of the largest Esports stars and has been a leading country globally for decades. Time to get involved.
In June, it became known that the biggest Dota 2 tournament — The International 10 — was moved from Stockholm to Bucharest. The developer asked for help from Sweden to get the status of a professional sporting event, but they refused.
PGL said today that PGL Major Stockholm, the CS:GO major scheduled for November 2021, could also be moved from Stockholm for the same reason.
Ninjas in Pyjamas had a Dota 2 team from 2015 to 2020. Throughout its existence, it earned over $1 million in prize money. The unit is currently on pause.
